Cho bột gạo, tinh bột sắn (hoặc bột bắp), muối và nước vào một bát trộn. Trộn và hòa tan tất cả mọi thứ với nhau. Thêm 1 muỗng cà phê dầu, và ray bột qua ray lưới vào một cái bát khác. Dùng bao ni lông bao kín miệng bát và để bột nghỉ trong 30 phút.
Trong lúc hỗn hợp bột nghỉ, bắt một cái nồi nước và đặt vào trong đó 1 cái chảo phẳng (loại chảo chống dính) như để hấp cách thủy. Nấu cho nồi nước sôi và chảo bên trong nóng lên. Phết một lớp dầu lên mặt chảo rồi cho ¼ cốc bột gạo vào chảo. Nghiêng nó một chút để bột gạo tràn ra đáy chảo thành một lớp mỏng.
Đậy nấp nồi lại và nấu trên lửa lớn khoảng 5 phút. Bánh chín thì dùng cái vá cao su mỏng nhẹ nhàng lấy lớp bánh ra đặt lên cái thớt.
Tiếp tục làm cái lớp bánh tiếp theo, lần lượt như thế cho đến hết bột. Khi tất cả những tấm bánh phở được thực hiện, bạn cắt các tấm phở thành miếng rộng 1 cm, nhưng bạn cũng có thể cắt chúng thành bất cứ kích thước và hình dạng nào bạn muốn.
