The bestselling author of Love Unending and Midnight Mom Devotional reassures anxious women that even if you can't shake off fear, your faith is not broken.

For years, Christian women have been told, "If you just prayed more, had more faith, and trusted Jesus, you'd have more peace." But what does it mean when a Christian momma continues to worry? How does she reconcile her feelings of fear with her faith in God? And how does she raise her children in a home full of peace when she feels anything but peaceful?

Becky Thompson, a best-selling author with a degree in biblical studies, knows firsthand what it is like to suffer from the crippling effects of anxiety--a condition she has struggled to overcome for most of her life. For her and many others, the fear she faces is not a faith issue. It's a physical one that affects over 40 million adults in the US.

As Becky examines the relationship between the promise of peace in Scripture and the reality of life, motherhood, and anxiety, she brings both a practical and spiritual approach to the discussion of anxiety and how it impacts your mind, body, and spirit.

Peace meets moms in the forest of fear where they have felt isolated and alone and walks them toward hope, reminding them that there are millions of other women who walk the same dark, uncertain trails they do and there isn't something wrong with their faith because they can't shake the fear. Peace is a lifeline for the Christian mom desperate for solid advice based on sound doctrine and presented in a way that makes her feel understood and far less alone on her journey toward healing.

Highly Recommend

I highly recommend this book to any woman, especially mothers, who is suffering with ANY form of anxiety. I was diagnosed with Postpartum Anxiety after my last child was born. It was so bad that I sought medication and therapy which I believe God used to help me. It’s been well over a year now. I started reading this book and God placed it on my heart to attempt to go off the anxiety medication. I’m not saying this book can CURE you of your anxiety, but it truly helps give insight and suggestions to truly finding PEACE while also being interesting and “hard to put down” read. All of Beckys books are amazing. I actually stumbled across her books in the midst of my worst depression and anxiety moments last year and she was my “light” in the darkest times of my life. Then I heard about this new book and I had to read it ASAP. This book will help if not change your life.

MUST READ for all mothers in today's anxious world!!

It is a tough world right now, especially as a mom. There are so many things happening, and so many unknowns. It is easy to become overwhelmed, and to allow our anxiety to take over. This book is such a beautiful reminder that we are seen, we are heard, and we are not alone. It is a reminder that God is leading us through this forest of unknowns, and will guide us through to the other side. It is a reminder that it is okay to say that we are not okay, and that we are not alone in these feelings. Becky Thompson is so real and honest, and that spoke right to my heart and brought me such peace. I can't wait for so many women to read this and find peace, hope, and healing!

Relatable, Practical, Powerful & Well-Written!

Before 2020 even happened- all the stress and anxiety we’ve faced this year over every unexpected turn- God set this book into motion and I KNOW so many of you will begin to find the path He’s set before you leading to hope and healing as you read “Peace.” Why do I recommend this?! Not only does Becky have a Biblical Studies degree (which gives authority to what she writes about God’s Word), but she writes from experience. She’s lived through His love and grace and also through truly debilitating anxiety! I trust her because she’s done her research and has first hand experience. I trust her because I’ve seen over the years how she yields her life to His will. I trust her because I know God put this on her heart- she was the one to write this and lead others to the hope and healing that’s found in Him. When I read a book written by Becky, it feels like I’m reading a book written by someone I’ve known for years, though I’ve only “known” her through Facebook interactions! I love her wisdom and the practical way she shares biblical truths. This book is a message that so many women need, especially in this 2020 world. It has a specific chapter on motherhood and uses experiences drawn from a mother’s perspective, but the conversation about anxiety is one that ALL women can benefit from. The hope and healing is the same for all of us!

A Guide in the Dark

Becky Thompson has been a staple in my growth and Bible study in the last few years. I found Becky on Instagram and learned she had written a few books and had a ministry that spoke right to my heart at all the right times. Becky's most recent book Peace was my favorite so far. I have suffered from an anxiety disorder most of my life and found myself feeling so alone as a Christian woman that I could not overcome this weakness. Through Peace I learned that I am not alone and that I am broken by our fallen world, not by my actions or lack of faith in God. Through the analogy of the woman lost in the forest looking to be saved Becky walks the reader through the steps of leaning into God, obedience and those willing to help to walk out of the forest. Each chapter ends with a prayer and a journal prompt. I would recommend this book to anyone and everyone. Whether you are someone that has anxiety or knows someone that does this book with be a guiding light. 5 stars Thank you to Becky Thompson, NetGalley, and WaterBrookMultomoh for the advanced reader copy.

A perfect time for this release

This book is such a wonderful tool for every woman not just for mommas. I was blessed to be apart of the launch team and was able to read the book before it releases. It is by far my favorite one so far and helps my momma with anxiety. Listen for us when we shout hello! Call back to us so we can come meet you in the forest and help you navigate out. We are coming! This book could not release at a more perfect time coming out during a pandemic and Hurricane Laura recovery for my hometown. God knew we all needed this and the perfect time for Becky to release this amazing book.

The perfect book at the perfect time

Becky Thompson has done it again! I fell in love with her words through her Midnight Mom prayers but this book touched me so deeply. I’ve always felt like I was lesser than because my anxiety was something I had to hide in my church and try and apologize to God about. Becky turned that idea upside down. Nothing about me is a defect and this book gave me this message I didn’t know I needed. Especially during these times, Becky helped me realize how present God is through every day but especially during these turbulent times through Trail Angels. Women who walk this path right along with me. It’s calmed my heart so much and given me a connection to other women I want to share this message of hope with.

A must read!

Peace. A word so simple yet holds so much power. As someone who has struggled with anxiety, both in and out of motherhood, the word peace often seems like a foreign idea. I’ve read other books, listened to talks, and researched many things that would try to help bring peace to my heart and my mind. As an avid follower of Becky Thompson, long before this book (and all her other books), when I saw that she was going to be speaking truth to the topic of anxiety I was beyond excited. Finally – someone to put words to the things I felt, to put a voice to the words of my heart that I couldn’t seem to find myself. But what I looked forward to most was that I knew I would find HOPE and HEALING in her words. PEACE is exactly that. There is hope in the pages. Healing happens as you turn the pages. Some things resonate more than others, but I just tucked those things away to save for when I need them. Becky Thompson uses her voice to reach through the dark clouds that often come with anxiety and helps you see that there is hope when everything seems hopeless, that healing is possible when it seems like you will always be broken. Her words, however, are only possible thanks to her being willing to listen to what God has called her to do. This is a must read for anyone who has ever felt anxious, or has someone in their life who has anxiety!

Much needed especially now

If you deal with anxiety this book is a must! I have followed Becky's blog for many years and have seen her posts about anxiety. I was excited when she said that she was now coming out with a book about the same subject. One thing that I appreciate about this book is that Becky talks about the many causes of anxiety. She looks at it from all aspects. Peace: Hope and Healing for the Anxious Momma's Heart is uplifting and a refreshing breath in this time of chaos.

AMAZING book for ALL moms, especially those with anxiety!

This book was AMAZING! I’ve dealt with anxiety all my life and this book made it feel as if I was not alone! ALL moms should read this book! Becky writes in such a way that you feel like she’s just a friend talking with you over coffee! She’s is not afraid to share her personal experiences! It was a wonderful book to read during this crazy time! HIGHLY recommend!!

Helped Me and One to Pass Along

What a timely book for all that we have been experiencing in our world right now! I think there has never been more anxiety around us than today, at least not in my lifetime! Becky’s book hit home for me. First of all, who couldn’t use more peace! She takes you though her own struggles with anxiety and helps you to access your anxiety through many different contributors. As I read her book, I had some lightbulb moments and I felt at one point, I was writing the pages myself! See, I had a panic attack for the first time this year and it was a very similar experience that Becky once had. I found the Lord showing me how I can rest in Him and have hope and healing through His Word and through steps I myself can take. Are you struggling finding peace? Or dealing with anxiety? Read Becky’s book and then pass it on!
