DON'T WASH THESE PANS! No water, no soap ...
DON'T WASH THESE PANS! No water, no soap, no dishrag, no sponge, especially no dishwasher. Just wipe out with a paper towel and the non-stick will last for a long time.

The Best - but ONLY IF you take good care of it
I have had my scanpan for over 2.5 years now, and it is one of my favorite possessions. That being said, if you do not plan to take good care if it, you should not buy a scanpan. My parents, for example, owned one of their own, but they ended up getting rid of it after it lost its nonstick properties due to insufficient care. Since I've owned it, my pan lost a small amount of non-stick in the first few months, and has been just as non-sticky ever since. In my experience, proper care includes (though defer to the product manual): - not overheating the pan when it has nothing in it (though when cooking with oil, you should wait to add the oil until after the pan is already hot). - never using metal utensils of any kind on the pan. Light cosmetic scratching (from, e.g. a plastic spatula) is normal and expected. - washing and cleaning the pan immediately after cooking, while it is still hot. It's okay if you don't do this every once in a while, but this seems to be very important to keeping a layer of burned-on food from developing. Additionally, the leftover heat from cooking helps with cleaning. If using a scrubbing pad, make sure it is non-abrasive. If you let the pan cool with food in it, you may need to 1. wash with soap and water 2. then reheat 3. wash with soap and water again, before it will regain its usual "clean" feel minus any patina. That being said, I absolutely love my scanpan. I am a college student and cook almost all my meals on it, so I use the pan at least once every other day. Fantastic for baking in the oven as well. The bottom line is, though I've only owned and used one of these pans (sample size = 1), my impression is that anyone who had a poor result simply didn't take proper and attentive care of their scanpan. It requires more love than a normal teflon pan, but will more than repay that care in a fantastic, evenly heated cooking surface, and a pan that will last for years.

Buy This Pan!
I would give this pan 10 stars if I could. It is everything you would want in a non stick (and nothing you don't - this is the safe for you non stick coating). Washes like a dream, cooks like a dream. I was a little worried how it would cook evenly with the extra large size to burner ratio but no issue whatsoever. AND I can put in the oven. No longer will I have to cook things in batches. This is a forever pan and I could not be happier with the purchase. HIGHLY recommend.

My Highest Recommendation!!!
I've used All Clad for 20+ years. And I've had All Clad skillets for ~ 10 yrs. My brother (who has been using his for many, many years) has been saying how much better Scanpan is - lifetime warranty, nothing sticks, etc. I've used his and my mom's, and cannot believe the difference. So I saved up and finally have my own 2 Scanpans!! I had to because my All Clads discolored and totally lost their surfaces. And that black stuff is poisonous. My brother even accidentally left one of his on a commercial burner on high for two days with food in it. He called to buy a new one and they wouldn't let him. They said it is guaranteed for life, and sent him a brand new one. I still won't part with my All Clad cookware and bakeware, but for skillets, it's SCANPAN for me!!!

So worth it - I love Scanpan Classic
I'm a big fan of Scanpan! My first set lasted 25 years and every part held together very well. Now with an excellent non-stick surface, and metal rimmed glass covers, I'm real pleased with my purchase. They clean simply, heat very efficiently and cook food perfectly. Other reviews may say they take a while to heat up, it's not long, and should take some time as any great pan would. I love all of the design including the handles and cover knobs. These pans are so worth it, and if you're uncertain if you should buy the 8 piece or 11 piece, go 11, you won't be unhappy. It has three sauce pans, 1, 2 and 3 quart with individual lids giving a lot of flexibility, and the large sauce pan is perfect for boiling a few potatoes or steaming vegetables and not have to use the big Dutch oven. Very pleased!

Best pan ever
This is my second Scanpan of this size. The first one I had for about 9 years. Another family member didn't respect the first pan and warped it so I needed to purchase another one. I love the idea that it is a true titanium pan and not a pan with a Teflon coating. Teflon pans give me the willies because some of the Teflon may come off into my food. If a Scanpan is used properly, you need very, very little oil. Cleanup is obscenely easy. The pan does have a lifetime warranty as long as you keep the receipt and you don't abuse the pan. My old receipt was created with thermal paper (the kind that is used a lot these days). Thermal paper fades with time. This time, my receipt is on paper that won't fade. I don't expect I'll ever purchase another pan.

Scanpans are the BEST!
Scan Pans are the best I’ve EVER found. I was gifted a larger one, and just had to have this small one. Use it all the time. Scan pans are so well made and will last for years. I have thrown away so many “non-stick” pans that became scratched and unsafe to use. I know this one will provide excellent cooking and will last. Nothing sticks to it, it browns and cooks evenly. As with any cookware, don’t use it on high heat, no need to. Highly recommend!

This pan is pretty amazing. It's truly nonstick
This pan is pretty amazing. It's truly nonstick, easy to clean, hard-wearing, and it heats evenly. It's more expensive that nonstick skillets I've purchased before, but the fact that it's not Teflon based makes me feel better about using it for the family.

Not the old Scanpan, this one rocks!
OK, I bought a 12" "Scanpan 2000" several years before the turn of the century. After using it a while, I splurged for the heavy glass lid to use when needed. The pan did fine for several years, but probably about 10 years ago, the non-stick quality just didn't cut it. As a Dutch oven user, I re-seasoned the pan multiple times just as you sometimes need to do with cast iron. It still failed pretty miserably most of the time. After reading reviews on the current Scanpans, I decided to give a new pan a try. Ordered the current pan in 14", which I don't use a lot, but when needed, is great. Tried it out, and it rocked. Donated my old non-stick 14" to the church kitchen. This 14" distributed heat better, and just flat worked better. I stewed on the old pan for a while, then put it in the box the new one arrived in and sent it to the Scanpan distributor in CA with the request that it be "refurbished, repaired, or replaced." I did not have much expectation, but thought it worth a try. To my surprise, a package arrived about a month later with a brand new 12" Scanpan, which works very very well, and the old heavy glass lid still fits. What a great unanticipated surprise! If my experience proves any indication, it's that the company truly stands behind their products!

Excellent frying pan
I love Scanpan, I have the smaller size and this 11 inch. I don’t need to use non-stick spray or oil. You definitely want to read the care instructions, no metal spatulas!!!
